Concerning the Chaos Today's World

We now live from day to day with energy vampires in power over much of the earth. These vampires have international attention. These vampires are only the figureheads of deep-seated issues now in the fore, not only in this nation (USA) - but much of the world. These vampires and those of similar ilk will say and do whatever will bring them the most blood (emotional response which is what they feed on) - OUR MISSION (as I see it) is to not feed the vampire while simultaneously standing / resisting the tyranny, misogyny and fascism. The energy vampires encourage unrest as it brings them their primary food source (our fears, anxiety and anger). SO, despite all we must remain unshaken and peaceful while resisting with every cell in our being …. Then like tatanka / the buffalo we will weather the storms shrieking through our world. We need the FORTITUDE to go the distance. Stay strong. Remain peaceful. Love in vanguard. WE GOT THIS - we were born for this time.

Happy Birth-Day Starr

With Joy

Remembering your Birth-day
on April 19, 1976
.... yelling your head off
letting us know you were not keen
on the situation.
Then laying you on my chest
i put my hand on your back
looked into your eyes
told you ...
"It is okay - mommy is here Starr."
you were instantly quiet.
Instantly quiet.
Eye contact.
Love from across the Milky Way.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY STARR

FINDING OUR WAY TO OUR TRUE HOME

As I ruminate on The Thanks Giving Holiday Celebration which is tomorrow,
I have come to the conclusion  ...

Find your gratitude
and you find your heart.
Find your heart
and you find your way back home.

The Presidential Election 2016 - there is something happening here - what it is aint exactly clear -

Deep inside we know:  What is happening in the presidential election in the United States is far greater than a political problem.  The disparity between candidates shows the deep chasm running through the people in the US as we struggle with the battle of heart versus head dominance.  This same struggle is occurring over the earth as technology brings us together making us one people.

We live in a world where a death in the Sudan is lamented by a school boy in Finland watching TV who then by email shares the story with a friend in New Zealand- and soon countless thousands are suffering from the loss of single life continents away.  We are no longer separated by time and space.  Almost instantaneously we know what is occurring on the other side of the earth.

The people of The Earth are on the cusp of great change. The world can choose to come together as One Family or we can create great destruction This time in history makes the crusades look like child's play when compared to the mayhem we now have the potential of creating.

The truth is we already know the only way out of the looming chaos.  We already have within us the tools to avert annihilation.  The question we need to ask ourselves is not ‘what is the answer?’ but rather ‘Are we willing to pay the price for creating a more peaceful world?’

As long as our choices are motivated by fear and lack we will continue to play this top of the trash heap game seeking to place a crown of tin cans on the head of our personal team leader (pray we do not choose a bully).  Since the crusades and long before, so many who claim to follow the Christ point fingers at those who claim to follow Muhammad and call them heathen. But guess what, they in turn call the Christian heathen.   Add to this countless other scenarios wherein we create in our minds the ‘good guy’ versus ‘the bad guy’ stories.  (gay vs straight – black vs white – rich vs poor – and on and on the stories run).

When I look at the choices before us - it seems the present political climate is just the tip of the iceberg and it is a smoke and mirrors distraction from the real issue. OUR SOULS ARE AT STAKE - - yes we have choices to make - those in politics who we have elected to stand for us are a reflection of us - and the real choice is not about who will sit in an oval office - but about who will reign in our soul.

And finally you ask, ‘What is the price that must be paid to attain peace?’
The price is agape*.  The price is giving everything with generous and open heart.  Loving all and serving all, knowing we are family.

* Agape is the highest form of love, charity; the love of God for man and of man for God. Agape embraces a universal, unconditional love that transcends and serves regardless of circumstances.

HARMING THE OTHER

Perhaps the most important lesson ever, 'We are ALL ONE' is not just a few sweet and empty words strung together on a Facebook post....
A Metaphor on what actually happens
when we seek to harm another being:

It is rather like crashing your fist at the person smirking at you (seeing him/her as 'the other)   - - -  and then the mirror you were actually looking into falls to pieces scattering shards of glass everywhere  - - -  your hand (or worse) is now bleeding - - -   your hatred has maimed the true self.  Which is to say - has ultimately harmed all of us.

One of the most astounding gifts given is a heart capable of breaking wide open.  It is most often through pain and suffering that the opening begins. Initially that pain is for the small self and concurrent thwarted desire.  It has the potential to expand to include immediate family and from there has the potential to include tribe and those with mutual attitudes and goals.  We are broken down by the weight of suffering pressing in on us from all sides.
Then there comes a time when the scales tip. ALL melts into us.  What we thought was taking us only deeper into to sorrow and suffering - into our collective suffering which we sought thru legislation and 'good guy' organizations to relieve and heal - was actually creating an even grander opening.
Here is truth: When the flood gates opened pouring misery into our life what we did not then realize was that a channel was being formed to also admit - JOY concurrent with LOVE.
This profound and all pervading Joy and Love, we realize, has been there all along.  Yes there is still an intense suffering of which we are aware, and often it is still a personal and painful suffering.  But, more and more includes the connection to Creator and Creation and so connection with ALL.
There comes a time when we become acutely aware - harming the other also harms the self.
This is our collective journey - a turning to what in the bible is called ATONEMENT.  a return to AT ONE MENT.

PRONOUNS
   by Karle Wilson Baker
  O God, You said,
“Say, ‘We’”;
But I shook my head,
Hid my hands tight behind my back, and said,
 Stubornly,
“I.”

Again You said,
“Say, ‘We’”;
But I looked upon them, grimy and all awry.
Myself in those twisted shapes? Ah, no!
Distastefully I turned my head away,
 Persisting,
“They.”

Again You said,

"Say, 'We'",

and I

At last,

Richer by a hoard

Of years,

Looked in their eyes and found the heavy word

That bent my neck and bowed my head:

Like a shamed school child then I mumbled low,

"We, O GOD."

Thoughts as We Enter The Season of the Christ Mass 2015

THERESA OF CALCUTTA - - has been my hero from my early days as a nurse. I had her picture on my clipboard when I was working in oncology. I would put her photo and quotes up in secret and not so secret places all through the oncology unit where I worked at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Oxnard (In linen closets, in the med drawers, in the locker room, in the nurse’s station).  I do not remember all the quotes I put up around the hospital unit, but I do remember one I kept on my clipboard. This quote remains for me to this day as guide for my daily life:
************************************
“I'm a little pencil in the hand of a writing God, who is sending a love letter to the world.”
― Mother Teresa
************************************

Teresa of Calcutta epitomized the words of TERESA OF AVILA (another hero who through her work - "The Interior Castle" has guided my life) - - - - -
Both Teresa’s are LIFE MENTORS for me.  They are for me exemplars in service to God through our service to humankind and all life coupled with deep prayer and meditation.
When I worked on that oncology unit at St. John’s in every bed there was my Sister, my Mother, by Brother, my Uncle – all were relatives.  There was no person I cared for who was not a relative.  Now even in the smallest thing – buying food at the market, driving my car, taking a walk – everyone I encounter is a relative… and here is the good news:  so many I meet also recognize we are ALL RELATED- we are all one family.  With heart overflowing i see, the numbers who recognize our oneness growing.
As we enter this Holy Season there is so much division and suffering in the world. Battle lines have been drawn dividing those who claim Christianity, Judaism and Islam (and other ways).  In the name of The Beloved, who is LOVE we spew words and actions which are the anti-thesis of the affiliation we claim.  We point fingers at the other and say “He started it.”  We are sometimes school children without the maturity to know the ultimate creation of healing and balance comes not in controlling the ‘Other’ but in controlling the Self.
It is time for people of good heart and good intention to stand up and be counted.  As we stand, others will find the inner strength and fortitude to stand with us.
With heart overflowing with love and gratitude for those who have gone before and hold aloft the light to guide our way – Pranams – Pranams – Pranams -

******************************************
“Christ has no body now on earth but yours,
no hands but yours, no feet but yours,
Yours are the eyes through which to look out
Christ's compassion to the world
Yours are the feet with which he is to go about doing good;
Yours are the hands with which he is to bless men now.”
TERESA OF AVILA

COUNTING SINS

"Counting other people's sins does not make you a saint.'
(author unknown)

*********************************

This is a tough one for us two-leggeds.  Whereas on one hand it is good to have discernment and consider outcomes of choices - and one way to do this is to be aware and observe the cause and effect in the lives of those you come in contact with from day to day - - - -however, we do NOT know thier whole story.

Even those we may share our homes and day to day lives with have parts of themselves we are not privy to - perhaps ever. We do not know what has put them where they are now - and if we think we know - - we are like the blind men who thought they understood what the elephant was when in truth their understanding was quite limited.

This writing is for me also - - it is so easy for me to judge another. I decide what is good/bad ... virtue/sin ... over and over many times in one day.  We do not even fully understand our own mechanisations - - - - - - what makes  us / me   think i could ever fully understand another.

The Creator has given me a primary task : LOVE ...

This loving does not mean condone or support poor choices in self or others ...

This loving does not mean allowing self to be victim . . .

This does mean just LOVE ...
.. not 'put up with' ..
.. but full bore be a conduit of love for all ..
